Lorikeet November\December Newsletter

The Lorikeets have been winding down now that it is December. It has been a busy year of fun and learning.
Some of our older Lorikeets have been going through the process of transitioning up to the Wallaby class while our younger Lorikeets have been focusing on self help skills such as hand washing, looking after their belongings, and toilet training.

Since the weather has been getting much warmer there has been a focus on watering the garden and we have some children very interested in how plants grow and how to care for our plants and our outdoor environment by helping to rake up the fallen leaves. We have also been enjoying water play, as well as some experiments making large bubbles.

The Lorikeets have shown so much development with their gross motor skills and are using more challenging outdoor play equipment such as the balance beams at different levels.
Their social development has also been improving as they have enjoyed socio-dramatic play experiences such as tea sets, office settings, and babies corner. The children are now playing along side and with their peers using language to communicate their thoughts, ideas and what they are doing. The children love their weekly movement with Miss Cheryl. We hope you all enjoyed our Christmas concert showcasing everything we have been learning.

We have been focusing on Christmas craft and decorating our room with Christmas trees, bells, and candy canes. The children have learned lots of Christmas songs and have been singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments to these songs.

We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2019 for another year of fun, play, learning, and development…

From Sarah, Karen, Kayla and Bree
